Our auto glass technicians at Thompson Glass are certified through the American National Safety Institute (ANSI) with the assistance of the Auto Glass Safety Council. Not only is Thompson Glass the only registered member in the panhandle but we also are home to the only two Certified Master Auto Glass Technicians in Western Nebraska.
The AGSC is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to the safe replacement of automotive glass. The AGSC was founded and is supported by automotive glass companies and other organizations that keep vehicle safety as their primary goal. Its mission is to make every automotive glass replacement a safe one. It does so by:
Every single AGSC Registered Member Company has agreed to undergo periodic, random onsite audits by independent auditors who verify that they are following the ANSI/AGSC/Automotive Glass Replacement Safety Standard. Registered member companies must be in compliance with the Standard or their registration will be revoked. The company with which you have chosen to work has agreed to follow the industry’s highest Standard for safe auto glass replacement. Congratulations to you for making this excellent choice!
We use OE and OEM quality glass from industry leading manufacturers so you can be sure your vehicle is safe and ready for the road when you leave our shop.
Thompson Glass is the only shop with the capability to calibrate every make and model of vehicle.
Calibration is the process of returning a vehicle’s ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) to OEM specifications
Calibration is necessary after a new windshield, particularly a windshield with a camera mounted to it, to ensure that the ADAS features continue to function properly despite having been moved during installation
Feel free to contact us with any questions on calibrations.
We also offer windshield repair and insurance claim processing to all of our customers. Thompson Glass is a preferred insurance provider and we have pricing agreements with all major insurance companies. This allows direct rapid processing of all your insurance claims.
Windshields are not the only glass in a vehicle that need replaced from time to time. We also replace and repair door glass, window regulators, back-glass, quarter glass, and automotive mirrors. We are also capable of cutting custom flat safety glass for that project you are working on.
How long will it take to replace my windshield? The total process typically takes about two hours. This ensures enough time for the replacement and ample time for the adhesive to cure.
What guarantees do you offer on auto glass? We guarantee our craftsmanship for the lifetime of the glass installed.
Why is it important to use an Auto Glass Safety Council™ registered company? A company registered with the AGSC has proven its commitment to the current safety standards as laid out by the American National Safety Institute. This standard ensures your vehicle is as safe as it was when it left the factory.
What role does my windshield play in an accident? A properly installed windshield is accountable for much of the cabin structural strength. During a front-end collision, the windshield is responsible for 45% of structural integrity and up to 60% in the instance of a roll over. Not only does the windshield provide structural support, but most air bags rely on the integrity of the windshield to function properly. A poorly installed windshield can result in serious injury in the event of an accident.
